I’ve been keeping busy the last few weeks with collecting chips and shopping for my gift boxes to send around the world. Mom put that on hold because we may have a postal strike, but she says it should be ok now to send stuff. I’m excited for that, I think it’s pretty awesome that you can take a box to the post office and then it will go to a whole different country. That’s pretty exciting I think. I wonder how long it would take me to go to these different places . . . I looked at my map and I’d have to fly to most of them, or take a boat. I would rather take a boat. I’ve been going on all kinds of adventures, picking strawberries, going to Zoo camp and I’m even training for a 5Km walk with Mom and her friends (Im going to get a medal when i finish!)
Anyway, I have been given more chips! Can you believe it . . . I didn’t know people were so nice and liked my Tato experiment so much – It makes me really happy to know people like it.
I’d been given chips from Germany, Mexico, Poland, Italy and some more from different USA States. I even have some coming from the UK – I even got some Hotdog flavoured pringles
Ill be trying some more soon and writing about them . . . the first ones I tried though were from Germany, Miss Bertha from Mom’s work brought them for me. They look really cool, I like the bag but wow are they spicy! They taste just like black pepper, Jason really liked them a lot, they sure
weren’t my favourite though. I don’t really like spicy stuff but I do like how crunchy they were.
We tried them out while we played Monopoly . . . . I think I won, Mom says I didn’t but I think she counted wrong.
Im super excited to be back with my Tayto chip tour . . . I even have a binder ready to keep all the bags and notes that I get. Pretty soon the Map from Auntie Jana will be flat enough that I can put it on the wall . . . . I still have to wash my wall first 😦
Thanks for reading about my Germany chips!
It’s been a very busy month for us. Mom and Jason made me concentrate on beaver Scouts, Soccer and school so my Tayto Chip tour had to go on hold for a bit. I’m done soccer and beaver Scouts until September and just in time . . . .
Holy smokes look at this awesome parcel I got! All the way from Japan . . . even the postage stickers on it is so cool. I’m going to keep things in a big scrap book I’ve decided and this is my very first delivery in the mail. I’m so excited!! I found Japan on my map (mom still hasn’t put it up on my wall so we don’t have a picture of that yet)
I even got a letter from the nice lady, Anna, who sent me the package. I’m going to send her some stuff from Canada to try but not to Japan, she lives in the Netherlands . . . this is so cool! She sent me a letter to explain what different kinds of chips and treats are in the parcel, I’m going to try two at a time so right now I tried the Taco and the Pizza.
Look how cool the bags are? They are really colourful and fun looking. Don’t you think?
ok, first Im trying the pizza ones and they are AMAZING! They taste exactly like pizza pops I think (mom agrees, she says they taste just like the dough and sauce) so far of all the chips i’ve
tasted these are for sure my favourite. I had to save some because I didn’t want to eat them all . . . they are SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!
After the pizza the Taco flavour, these were ok, but they didn’t taste like tacos to me. I remember what mom said before that maybe the tacos that I have aren’t the same kinds of tacos in other countries . . . but its really neat to see how they taste different. I think maybe i just was too excited about the Pizza ones. Mom tried these and said they remind her of a Ketchup chip but a little spicier. She might be right.
I can’t wait to travel back to Japan in a little while, but I have lots of places to go yet 🙂
Today we tried the Guiness Rich Beef Chili chips. I didn’t think they were as tasty as the chili cheese fires but i liked something about them. They tasted different in a good way, I can’t figure out what they tasted like, but they tasted like something I’ve had before. Mom thinks it’s her Guinny stew . . . I don’t think shes right.
I tried the Haggis chips before . . . I liked these ones, Mom said a lot of people at her work tried them and thought they’d be bad but were surprised. I dont think they are bad at all. They taste kind of like pepper but not really spicy pepper like when Jason puts too much of it in soup . . . something not so hot. I would have them again, but not all the time. I might try real Haggis if it tastes like this, Mom says it’s not so bad, we will just add some extra pepper.
Mom went to the Forks Market to pick these up at a really cool store on the second floor called Unique Ireland. I’ve been in there and I think it is super cool . . . the man who owns it has all kinds of things from Ireland and lots of Dr. Who stuff,
its awesome. He has lots of candy’s and chips and even drinks from Ireland and Scotland and Wales there. Some really cool toy cars and clothes too. If you go to the Forks Market you should go see him. I’m going to go back soon with Mom and get some more Prawn Cocktail chips, she really likes those and my mom is the awesomest (Yes, Jack really said that 🙂 )
I’m really excited to be getting some new penpals in Alabama. Mom has a friend there who has 2 kids that are about as old as me and we are going to send some Canada treats to them and they are sending me some American treats. I think that’s really awesome, everyone needs nice friends that will share fun experiments.
I spent a lot of days shopping for just the right treats and I’m finally finished. Mom is going to send the big box special delivery and I am going to put in a postcard from Winnipeg. I found cool ones that are just of Winnipeg stuff so I thought that was awesome.
AND . . . my Aunty Jana found me a map for my wall! A whole world map, I can write on it and erase things from it, so I can put that up soon with Jason (But mom said I have to wash the walls first 😦 )
I’m going to talk about the most awesome chips so far . . . . Chili Cheese Fries!!
These are so AWESOME! They are for sure my favorite so far . . . . I ate almost the whole bag. Even Jason said they were good and he doesnt really like chips unless its Dill Pickle. Mom said they really did taste like chili cheese fries and she’s right. Two thumbs up Larry the Cable Guy . . . Awesome chips! (Thank you Calista for getting these for me)
I tried another kind too. Southern Biscuits and Gravy. They are ok. Not my favourite, I don’t really think they taste like biscuits or gravy, but a little bit like pepper. Mom said they did taste like Southern Gravy to her and I just haven’t had that kind of gravy before. I Like poutine gravy, Mom said not everyone eats poutine gravy . . . that isn’t fair I think, everyone should get to have poutine gravy. I’m going to find some poutine chips and see if they taste right. So these ones were ok, but I’d rather have the Chili Cheese Fries.
I’ll be back soon to add more flavors . . . next up is Guinness.
Today I tried 2 different kinds of chips. They are both from the United Kingdom (When I get a map on here I’ll put a marker on it . . I found it on my globe already)
Spit Roast Steak
I think they taste like meat. Kind of like steak. They weren’t really really crunchy, but they were nice. Mom and Jason think they taste like HP sauce, I’m not sure what that is but it’s probably ok. I liked them, I gave them 2 thumbs up. I wonder if Goblins make them though . . . mom said maybe they do.
Next up is Mom’s favourite. Prawn Cocktail
Mom really liked them, she said they taste just like cocktail sauce. I don’t know what that is. Mom tried to tell me I’ve had it before but I don’t remember. I think they tasted like cherry tomatoes and something spicy, but not really spicy. I kind of liked them at first but not a lot . . . then I liked them more. I gave them a thumbs up!
next time I’m going to try some from a lady Mom works with . .. Chili Cheese Fries from Minnesota and Biscuits and Gravy from the USA.
Thanks for reading.
Hello everyone! Welcome to my very first blog post (with mom’s help)
This is my potato chip experiment. I want to try some different chips from all around the world and mark it down on my map. My map is still coming and mom hasn’t figured out how to put one on my blog yet, but we will soon.
I wanted to try chips from ALL OVER THE WORLD! this is what we came up with. I’ve already tried some from Ireland and the United Kingdom. I’ve even tried Haggis! I’ll be talking about them soon but i was just too excited to get my first post done!
I’m really excited to have some new pen pals too . . . . Mom has a friend in Alabama in the United States and we are going to send her family some Canada treats and the will send us some American treats – isn’t that awesome?
I think this is going to be really fun, mom does too. I hope you like our trip around the world in a potato chip bag.
From the Mom: If anyone has any suggestions for flavors to try, please let us know . . . or if youd like some Haggis chips of your own to sample next time you see us 😉
